EUROPE – Human Habitats
Europe’s town and cities may be a magnet for tourists, but they’re also a magnet for a surprising amount of wildlife. Paris may be one of the most rat-infested cities on the planet but it’s slowly realising the rodents may be more friend than foe. In Spain, huge white storks nest on the roofs of churches. Dice snakes catch fish in man-made waterfalls while Alpine ibex fearlessly scale the sheer face of a man-made dam. And in Portugal, hungry bats feed on beetles in a majestic palace library!
