The city of peace and justice will host the fifth season of International Film Festival The Hague in November 2023 with the theme “PEOPLE & PERSPECTIVES”.
The fifth edition of The International Film Festival The Hague encompasses people’s perspectives across the globe through highly crafted motion pictures. The need to spread love and awareness about topics that matter in our world is core to the filmmakers and organizers of the festival through which we can contribute to changing the world with you through your perspective.
The festival provides a platform for filmmakers from all over the world to showcase the challenges and issues in all spheres of life. International audience and filmmakers get a chance to watch their films and appreciate others’ perspectives.

Dirk Gunther Mohr
An acclaimed performer hailing from The Hague, this actor has gained renown for his remarkable range of acting abilities, particularly his potent facial expressions that he employs to enthrall, enchant, and hold his viewers spellbound. Born in The Hague in 1981, Dirk Gunther Mohr embarked on his acting journey during childhood, gracing his parents’ living room with impromptu performances and reenactments of iconic scenes from films like Rocky and Scarface. His aspirations were grand, aspiring to share the screen with his idols Al Pacino and Robert de Niro in major cinematic productions. As a youth, he also penned his initial forays into scriptwriting.Dirk’s career trajectory truly soared when he reached the age of 30, following intensive acting instruction across various institutions, with a pivotal focus on refining his craft at the RJB Studio. There, he delved into method acting, an immersive technique where actors delve deep into their characters, drawing from their own memories and personal encounters to authentically and emotively convey the narrative. This dedication was exemplified in his role as an autistic young man in the short film “Tweespalt” (2017), where Dirk maintained his character’s distinctive traits throughout the entire shooting process, even when off-set.Throughout recent years, Dirk’s portfolio has been enriched by a plethora of movies, television ventures, and commercials. He also contributed as a scriptwriter, crafting narratives for works such as “HVIII: The Male Heir” (2015), “A Royal Love” (2016), “Capo di Famiglia” (2017), “Capo di Famiglia II” (2020), and “Capo di Famiglia III” (2022) — a dramatic exploration of a Dutch-Italian mobster family. Notably, he assumed the lead role in each of these creations.In recognition of his portrayal of Vincent la Rosa across the Capo di Famiglia trilogy, Dirk garnered multiple accolades as Best Actor at prestigious international film festivals, including the International Film Festival The Hague, the Los Angeles Actors Awards, and the European Cinematography Awards. Beyond his triumphs, Dirk also secured numerous nominations for his captivating performances in the Capo di Famiglia Trilogy, “Daddy’s Day,” and “A Royal Love.”Branching into historical drama, Dirk undertook the role of a cunning SS lieutenant in the World War II film “Betrayal” (Grenzeloos Verraad), a work that graced Dutch cinemas and is poised to grace Netflix screens from September 2023 onward.

MARIËLLE VAVIER
MARIËLLE VAVIER worked as a board secretary at Youth Protection West, a certified institution for youth protection and juvenile probation. She has done many different things for GroenLinks in recent years. From 2011 to 2015 she was a member of the support group for the GroenLinks Parliamentary Party, in 2012 and 2013 she was a member of the candidate committee in The Hague, and until June 2016 she was a board member of GroenLinks The Hague. From June 2016 to March 2018 Mariëlle was a parliamentary party representative for the GroenLinks municipal council. In 2021 she was party leader of GroenLinks and she was party leader for the municipal elections of 2022. Since September 2022 she has been an alderman with the portfolios Poverty, emancipation and public health for GroenLinks.
